I was very fortunate to be allowed to share the following impactful poem from a survivor of childhood sexual abuse, they want to remain anonymous.

Poem October 2022
I am a Victim
In an instant, I’m back, in real-time
Sad, Scared, Angry, Ashamed and Abused
Breathe Deep, I return
I am Alive

I am a Survivor
I work daily, hourly, minute by minute to recover
I can be positive, I can be destructive
I am finding myself (again?)
I am a Victim
I am Alive

I am a Thriver
I still work to be me
I am empowered, I can see
I know my purpose although I still forget
I am a Survivor
I am a Victim
I am Alive
